Waupaca Hit With Lawsuits for Serious Injuries in Elevator Accidents
| Tim Miles Law Office

Since 2015, Waupaca County has been hit with a series of lawsuits from individuals who have suffered serious injuries in elevator accidents. The most recent suit, filed in late 2017, stems from an accident that occurred in May of that year.

In the May incident, a woman was entering an elevator on the first floor of the Waupaca County Courthouse when the elevator suddenly dropped, causing her to fall and sustain serious injuries. The woman filed a lawsuit against Waupaca County, alleging that the county was negligent in maintaining the elevator.

This is just one of several lawsuits that have been filed against Waupaca County in recent years. In 2016, a man filed suit against the county after he was injured when an elevator door closed on his arm. And in 2015, a woman filed suit alleging she was injured when an elevator suddenly dropped several floors.

Waupaca County has been hit hard by these lawsuits, and it remains to be seen how much longer they will continue.
