A new lawsuit has been filed against Onewheel, alleging that the company's "nosedive" feature is responsible for the wrongful death of a San Diego man.
The suit, filed by the family of deceased rider Matthew Cramer, claims that Onewheel knew about the dangers of its nosedive feature but failed to warn users or adequately test the safety of the feature.
Cramer was riding his Onewheel in March of 2020 when, according to the lawsuit, the nosedive feature suddenly engaged, causing him to lose control of the board and crash. Cramer died from his injuries a few days later.
The lawsuit alleges that Onewheel was aware of at least two other incidents where the nosedive feature caused riders to lose control and crash, but failed to take any action to warn users or fix the problem.
