Mechanic and Auto-Repair Shop Names

A name is the very first impression a person forms about your business. A name tells consumers what kind of company you are and how trustworthy you are. It should attract consumers' attention, be easy to pronounce, memorable, meaningful yet simple. For an established franchise or major corporation , choosing a name can take months if not years - however for small businesses and start-ups, or sole traders and contractors naming their business is a very important decision.

The process of choosing a name can be both hard and easy at the same time. It is especially if you are not familiar with naming trends, marketing theories and useful titles to help with this process. So let's talk about some things most people don't know when choosing a name.

The first and most important rule: KISS (Keep it Simple and Straightforward). A business name should be easy to pronounce, simple to spell and remember. Also, choose names that aren't already trademarked or that don't violate any trade or business laws.

Examples of good small business names:

* AmeriVet Plumbing & Heating Inc. - a very clear and straight to the point name, which is easy to pronounce and brand

* Air Conditioning Company or Heating Contractor of any town or city in your state

These are good names because they provide information about the business without making the consumer think too hard. They clearly state what is offered and they are easy to remember and most importantly they can be trademarked.

One thing most people don't think about when choosing a name is: does it matter if I am not the only business with this name in my area?  For instance Air Conditioning Company of New York - there probably are literally hundreds of businesses with the same name around the country. Among them, however, there are some that just coincidentally have the same name and offer completely different services.

That is why it is crucial to establish yourself as a unique business in your area or region by creating an original service / product that stands out from competitors. Or establishing your brand as the market leader in that specific type of business.

Some examples of unique names:

* All Green Pest Elimination - it is an original name, which implies the business only does one thing (eliminates pests), has one source of income (it's green, eco-friendly) and doesn't do anything else (it eliminates all pests, not just the common ones).

* Party Planners and Event Organizers of New York or Las Vegas. It's a simple and straightforward title that gives information about the type of business (event organizing) and location (New York and Las Vegas). But what makes it unique is something specific to each of those locations. New York is the capital of business events in North America, therefore it's obvious that businesses there would specialize in organizing events for their clients. On the other hand Las Vegas  is known as one of the world's best places for parties and entertainment  - therefore  this title makes sense for any business specializing in organizing affairs around New York or in Las Vegas.
